First off, I have to say that I am so glad I had the chance to speak with the instructor during her information session at VCU. Teaching abroad was an experience I wasn't sure if I was able to pursue, but at the same time I was eager and could see myself teaching and gaining experience in the education field. After gaining more insight from her, she has given me the motivation and encouragement that I needed. Her enthusiasm and energy did not stop after that workshop. Since the first day of class the instructor has integrated a wealth of information from her own personal experiences and education into the course curriculum. Incorporating what she has acquired from her years of teaching and master’s education greatly benefited the class. My peers and I were able to gain a great deal of practical knowledge from what to do in an abrupt travel emergency, to invaluable class room management and student communication techniques. Never once was there a dull moment in our classroom. Although we had quite a timorous and shy class, she was able to make it lively and facilitate class participation from everyone. In addition, she was always approachable (she is like a mom to all her students!) and encouraged questions and always provided clear and effective answers. The course procedure and assignments that were laid out fully supported the course objectives. Overall, it was an excellent course, and I would highly recommend enrolling!
