This is a very common type of teaching position for new English teachers, whether you are teaching English overseas, or\u00a0teaching immigrants who are living in an English-speaking country. If you\u2019re teaching in an English-speaking country, it will probably have its own national system of levels and standards in place.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>2. English for Specific Purposes (ESP)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>ESP can be divided into a large number of subsets:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>English for Academic Purposes<\/li>\n<li>English for Science and Technology (EST)<\/li>\n<li>English for Law<\/li>\n<li>English for Medicine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ESP provides the academic skills non-native speakers will need to successfully enroll in, and graduate from, a college or university in an English-speaking country.\u00a0Here, your goal as a teacher is to\u00a0provide the advanced reading, essay writing, presentation, and note-taking skills students will need to successfully complete their specific studies (science and technology, law, medicine, etc.).<\/p>\n<h2><strong>4.\u00a0Teaching Business English Abroad<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Jobs teaching Business English can be divided into two categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>English for General Business\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Purposes: <\/strong>Teaches English topics that people in a variety of different occupations need to know, such as business vocabulary, and using English confidently in group, or professional settings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>English for Careers\u00a0or\u00a0English for Occupational Purposes (EOP):<\/strong> Divided into countless variations within itself.\u00a0It is possible to study English for virtually any job; but some common courses include\u00a0Tourism, Telemarketing, Engineering, Construction, Retail Sales, and the Oil Industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Recent decisions by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.englishforaviation.com\/ICAO-requirements.php\">International Civil Aviation Organization<\/a> require all pilots and air traffic controllers to achieve a measurable English proficiency in order to be qualified for their jobs. This has created an entirely new industry of teaching and testing for English teachers.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How to Get a Job Teaching English Abroad<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>With the right certifications and education, there are countless jobs teaching English abroad out there.
